Frequently asked questions

What are cardio equipment upgrades?

Accessories and add-ons that extend or enhance existing cardio machines: replacement belts and decks for treadmills, equipment mats for floor protection and noise reduction, larger consoles or display upgrades, replacement saddles for bikes, rower replacement parts, and weight kits for treadmills and ellipticals. Most extend equipment life rather than transform functionality.

When should I replace a treadmill belt?

Signs it's time: visible wear on the underside, frayed edges, slipping or hesitation during use, or the belt feeling thinner in high-traffic spots. Most residential treadmill belts last 3–7 years depending on use; commercial belts last 5–10 years. Replacement belts typically cost $100–300 and are user-installable with basic tools.

Do I need an equipment mat under cardio machines?

Strongly recommended. Mats protect your floor from scratches and dents, reduce noise and vibration (huge for apartments or upstairs rooms), and can extend machine life by keeping dust and debris out of the drive mechanism. A 3 × 6 ft treadmill mat costs $50–100 and pays for itself the first time it prevents floor damage.

Can I upgrade an old treadmill console?

Usually no — consoles are model-specific and rarely swappable between units. If your current console is failing or lacks modern features, the cost of a console replacement is often 50–75% of a new treadmill. Sometimes a better solution is to use a tablet stand with a fitness app (Zwift, Kinomap) to add virtual-run features.
