Frequently asked questions
Do I need a kettlebell rack or can I just leave them on the floor?
Strongly recommended to use a rack, especially for more than 3–4 bells. Floor-stored kettlebells are trip hazards, get knocked around during training, and damage flooring. A proper rack keeps them organized, protects your floor, and makes it faster to select the right weight during a workout.
How many bells does a typical rack hold?
Most commercial 3-tier kettlebell racks hold 9–12 bells (3–4 per tier). Smaller home racks hold 4–6 bells on a single or double tier. For a complete commercial set (8–48 kg in 4 kg increments), you'll want an 11-bell rack or larger — sometimes two stacked racks.
Do the racks fit both cast iron and competition kettlebells?
Yes — all standard racks accommodate both cast iron and competition (pro-grade) kettlebells. The rack shelf depth and spacing are designed around kettlebell base diameter, which is similar across styles. Competition kettlebells are all the same size regardless of weight, so they actually organize more cleanly on a rack than cast iron (which varies in size).
Should the rack have angled or flat shelves?
Angled (back-tilted) shelves prevent kettlebells from rolling forward and make handles easier to grab — the better option for most users. Flat shelves hold more bells per tier but require careful placement. For safety and ease of use, angled shelves win.
What weight capacity does a kettlebell rack need?
A fully loaded 3-tier rack with 9–12 kettlebells can easily weigh 400–600 lb. Commercial racks are rated for 800+ lb to stay safe with a margin. Home racks for 4–6 bells typically need 200–300 lb capacity. Always check the rating and compare to your total bell weight.
