Powerline by Body-Solid: How to Choose

Powerline by Body-Solid is our value-driven strength line for home gyms, garages, and small studios that want real steel, simple setup, and smart footprints. In this collection you’ll find racks, a functional trainer, a Smith machine, benches, and specialty back/glute tools—all designed to help you build strength without wasting space or budget. We’re an authorized Powerline dealer, and we back you with Fast & Free Shipping, our Best Price Guarantee, and 60-day Price-Drop Protection so you can buy with confidence.

When comparing models, focus on the specs that change your training: type (rack vs. cables vs. Smith), dimensions (fit under your ceiling and within your room), capacity/resistance (700 lb rack load vs. a 210 lb selectorized stack), assembled weight (stability), key features (pulley ratios, safety systems, folding frames), and warranty. If you’re tight on space, shorter 83–84″ heights and compact footprints make Powerline an easy fit. If you train solo, a Smith’s guided bar or a rack with included safeties increases confidence. You bring the goals—we’ll help you match the right frame and features to your lifts.

Powerline by Body-Solid FAQs

How do I choose between the PPR1000 Power Rack and PPR500 Half Rack?

If you want full-cage training and room for future add-ons, choose the PPR1000 (54" L × 51" W × 83" H) with pipe/pin safeties. If you're tight on space, the PPR500 (50" L × 51" W × 83" H) keeps the footprint smaller while still supporting up to 700 lbs. Both include j-cups and pair well with our benches.

Do Powerline racks and trainers require electricity?

No. These strength machines are plate-loaded or use built-in weight stacks (like the PFT50’s 210 lb stack), so you don’t need a dedicated outlet.

What ceiling height do I need?

Most units in this collection stand 79–84" tall: the PSM200 is 79", the PPR racks are 83", and the PFT50 is 84". We recommend at least 6–12" of clearance above the stated height for chin-ups and comfortable setup.

What’s the warranty on Powerline equipment?

Many Powerline pieces we carry include a 10-year frame / 1-year parts warranty. Always confirm the Warranty section on the specific product page, as some accessories can differ.

How fast will my order ship and how is delivery handled?

You’ll see live stock on each product. In-stock items typically ship quickly with Fast & Free Shipping. Larger items ship freight with curbside delivery and an appointment—please inspect and note any damage upon arrival.

What else do I need to start training?

Most racks arrive with essentials (PPR1000 includes j-cups and pipe/pin safeties; PPR500 includes j-cups and spotter arms). Add a bench, barbell, plates, or a lat attachment as needed for your program.
