The MARQ Commander Gen 2 Carbon Edition is built around a fused carbon fiber case, with a 1.2 in (30.4 mm) always-on AMOLED touchscreen at 390 × 390 pixels. It weighs 76 g on the jacquard-weave nylon band (75 g with the optional silicone band; 48 g case only) and carries a 10 ATM water-resistance rating.

GPS, sleep tracking, music, and notifications are on board, with Bluetooth®, ANT+®, and Wi-Fi® connectivity and iPhone® and Android™ compatibility. The rechargeable lithium battery charges on Garmin's proprietary magnetic charger. Warranty coverage is 1 year.
