Frequently asked questions

Where should I start if I'm building a home gym from scratch?

Most home setups start with three anchors: a power rack or squat stand, an adjustable bench, and a barbell with bumper or Olympic plates. From there, dumbbells and a cable or functional trainer round out pressing, pulling, and accessory work. If space is tight, a folding rack (like the PRx wall-mount options) or a multi-station gym consolidates several stations into one footprint. Not sure what fits your space or goals? Call us at (855) 512-6670 and we'll put together a build list.

What's the difference between plate-loaded, selectorized, and free-weight equipment?

Plate-loaded machines (and barbells) use Olympic weight plates you load manually — lower up-front cost, scales as you buy more plates, and you feel more of the movement. Selectorized machines have a built-in weight stack with a pin selector — faster to change loads, safer for solo training, and ideal for circuit-style workouts or shared facilities. Free weights (dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells) allow the widest range of movements and build stabilizer strength but require more technique. Most well-rounded gyms mix all three.

Is this equipment rated for commercial use?

Many of our brands are — Muscle D Fitness, Body-Solid Pro ClubLine, XMARK Commercial, and TRX are all engineered for hotels, apartment gyms, studios, and full-service facilities. Other lines like Powerline and Body-Solid Tools are built for home and light-commercial use. Each product page lists its warranty and intended use. If you're outfitting a facility, check out our Commercial page for bulk pricing, facility design help, and purchase orders.

Do you offer free shipping on strength equipment?

Most strength equipment ships free within the continental US, and you'll see the free-shipping badge directly on the product page when it applies. Large freight items (power racks, multi-station gyms, commercial machines) ship via LTL freight to your curb — lift-gate and inside-delivery upgrades are available at checkout. Full details are on our Shipping Policy page.

How much space do I need for a rack, bench, or machine?

Every product page lists the assembled footprint (length × width) and minimum ceiling height. As a rough rule of thumb: a full power rack needs at least an 8 ft ceiling and a 7×7 ft pad, a squat stand or folding rack works in tighter spaces, and selectorized machines typically need 3–4 feet of clearance around them for full range of motion. If you want help laying out a room, send us dimensions and we'll sketch a layout.

Do you price match, and is financing available?

Yes to both. We honor our Competitive Price Guarantee on advertised prices from authorized dealers, and we offer financing options through Shop Pay and Affirm at checkout — useful for larger multi-machine orders. Commercial buyers can also open a purchase order or request a custom quote.
